About
This is my
life's work.
I am Matthew Manes, a Filipino nature artist and the first Filipino to win the International Aquatic Plants Layout Contest (IAPLC) in Japan in 2022.
I have also won multiple international aquascaping competitions across Korea, Brazil, the United States, Taiwan, and China.
I study nature as a system — plants, rock, wood, water, and the balance that holds everything together. I don't follow trends. I build based on how nature actually works.
My work is not decoration. I recreate ecosystems.
I build, design, and innovate fast. I adapt the latest technology to make every system more sustainable, more efficient, and easier to maintain.
I design aquascapes, paludariums, vivariums, and living walls engineered for stability and long-term life. Every piece is built to run effortlessly and last.
I am also a photographer, painter, and freediver. I travel to study nature in its raw form — because what I create comes from real environments, not references.
This is not a hobby. This is not a style. This is my life's work.
